Vanessa K. (Zavala) Clark was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. She received her BFA from The University of Texas at El Paso in 2007. Studies focused on graphic design and ceramics. For the past 15 years she has explored acrylic painting and ceramics for personal artwork as well as offered professional graphic design and painting murals. Vanessa currently works and lives in El Paso with her husband and two sons.

I am a Graphic Designer and Artist that works with small businesses and non-profits on Branding, Illustrations and Marketing tools. I am committed to authentic, vibrant design that communicates a company’s vision.

My favorite part of creating art is the process. I appreciate the development of a piece from the beginning sketch, trying out new techniques and the revisiting and finalizing details to completion. Layering is another point of interest as it allows me to revisit and purposefully add depth and new images, contributing to the story I am telling.

Why did I choose the butterfly as my logo and spirit animal? The butterfly represents change, growth and metamophasis. As an artist I am always trying to grow and push my artistic limits. The Yellow Swallow Doubtletail butterfly is native to our region and one of my favorites to spot out in nature.
